MX99 QA Bugs
openOauth consent screen: Requested permissions are very broad (Repository: Publish Changes) and needs to be scoped with a permissionSet to include only writing at.sovrn.* records.
Landing page copy: On new user signup, the page opens with “Your email” and talks about how many email addresses you have. This needs to be differentiated between a (1) new tenant flow (intended CTA is to add a domain to host some email accounts) and (2) a new user flow (intended CTA is a tenant admin has created an account for you, now you need to set it up.) On a reload, the copy changes to “Welcome to sovrn”, which is appropriate for flow (1). Need to troubleshoot why a brand new login shows the flow (2) email header and a reload once already logged in shows the flow (1) header.
Add new domain needs to show the pri 20 MX record: Currently only shows pri 10 mx99.eu.sovrn.at. It also doesn’t explain how the value of “10 mx99.eu.sovrn.at” should be created. Someone not familiar with MX DNS records might not know how to set a pri 10 and a pri 20 record. It would likely be better with a priority column and is empty for other record types.
DNS records check: The check status appears at the top of the page and doesn’t animate in, so when you push the “Check again” button, it’s not clear anything is happening. The button should transition to some kind of loading indicator, then the status should appear below the button without causing page shift. When pushed the final time and DNS checks pass, the banner at the top “still verifying” remains even though it says DNS is set up correctly.
Email account settings page: “Issue a new app password” should say “Create a new app password” and it needs a little bit of help text to explain what it’s for. The app password is used to log in to your account from any mail app. On iPhone, the default is not to use SSL so typing in the app password connects on port 143 and is not accepted by Stalwart, which appears to the user as if they typed the very long app password incorrectly. Needs to be fixed with a guided setup for config settings that auto install the correct values.
Button loading states: Buttons aren’t making use of HTMX ability to show a loading state when things are being loaded in the background. There should be some visible feedback for anything that requires a page transition or the change isn’t instant.
